Blair denies political interference over deportation

British Prime Minister Tony Blair today insisted Peter Foster’s deportation case had been “handled entirely properly”.

His comment came after it emerged that his wife Cherie had telephoned the convicted fraudster’s solicitors to reassure Mr Foster’s girlfriend Carole Caplin about the immigration proceedings.
