French lorry drivers began erecting roadblocks across the country today, after pay talks with employers collapsed.

Four small unions representing truckers struck a deal with management in the last-ditch talks, but the larger CFDT and CGT unions balked. Their members prepared blockades all over the country as the talks ended.
