Watches worth millions stolen in Geneva
Thieves using a truck as a battering ram smashed into Geneva’s watch museum early today, making off with around 100 pieces worth several million Swiss francs, police said.
Police said the thieves attached a two metre-long metal bar to the back of the stolen truck and then reversed at high speed into the entrance of the 19th century villa housing the collection of 5,800 watches and clocks and 7,000 pieces of other jewellery.
