Bush welcomes Lithuania into NATO

US President George W Bush has welcomed Lithuania into NATO, saying its admission will "lift and invigorate" the military alliance.

Thousands of people turned out in Lithuania this morning to hear Mr Bush's address. He is the first American president to visit the country.
