Air France passenger held after hijack threat
A Canadian passenger was arrested at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport today after threatening to blow up the Air France flight he had taken from Montreal.
The suspect was being held by French border police after the plane landed.
The suspect and his baggage were subjected to an intensive search at around 2am (1am Irish time) but nothing suspicious was discovered, police said.
Under French law, the suspect can be held up to 96 hours in preliminary detention without being charged with a crime.
