The Bush administration, seeking to energise efforts to financially paralyse terrorists, plans to offer a reward of almost €5m for information that results in the break up of networks used to finance terrorists organisations.

The Treasury and State departments were due to announce the reward today, marking the government’s latest effort to sever terrorists from their sources of financing, a key component in President George Bush’s war on terror.
