Pontiff urges scientists to work for good

The pope today urged scientists to work for the good of humanity, telling them to raise their voices for peace and avoid giving in to economic and political pressures.

By committing itself to “selfless research aimed at truth and the common good,” he said, the scientific community can serve humanity “in ways no other structures can.”
