A series of strikes which could close some of the UK's biggest airports is expected to be called tomorrow as talks aimed at averting a nation-wide walkout by fire-fighters enter a crucial stage.

Union leaders representing fire-fighters, security guards and other employees at seven airports are set to call stoppages after the workers voted for industrial action in a dispute over pay.
