Two men critical after stabbing in celebrity bar

Two men are in a critical condition after being stabbed at one of London's most famous haunts of the rich and famous.

Police were called to the Met bar on Old Park Lane in Mayfair, shortly after 2am after reports of a fight.

Police found a man in his 30s inside the bar with multiple stab wounds and another man, 39, at the back of the nearby Hilton hotel, also with stab wounds.

Police said the pair had been drinking at the bar when they had an altercation with another two men, resulting in the double stabbing.

One of the suspects, a stocky black man, fled the scene without a top on. He had been with an Asian man who police did not believe to be involved.

The two victims were taken to a central London hospital where they remain in a critical condition.

The Met Bar is a renowned hangout of London's A-list, with stars including supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss and singers Liam Gallagher and the Appleton sisters often spotted there.

A spokesman for the bar refused to comment.
