President George Bush, emboldened by his domestic election triumph, today edged closer to winning UN approval for using force against Iraq if it does not disarm.

A revised final joint resolution prepared with Britain capped eight weeks of hard-fought negotiations in which France, Russia, China and Mexico, among others, refused to threaten Iraq.
