A Caribbean castaway on the brink of death after 26 days adrift has been rescued by a Royal Navy warship after a sharp-eyed sailor spotted his boat dead in the water.

Lenny Leon Peter spent almost a month helpless on the water without food or drink after his speedboat lost all power, a Royal Navy spokesman said.
