Danish police detain Chechen rebel
Danish police have arrested a senior spokesman for Chechen separatist leader Aslan Maskhadov following a conference on how to end fighting in the breakaway Russian province.
Akhmed Zakayev was detained after the two-day World Chechen Congress in Copenhagen.
The meeting in the Danish capital had drawn sharp criticism from Moscow officials following the theatre siege there that ended on Saturday.
It was not immediately clear why Zakayev was arrested or what charges he might face.
Local reports said he was suspected of involvement in the Chechen raid on the theatre, which ended with more than 100 deaths.
