America is refusing to reveal how many inmates it is preparing to release from Cuba.

About 600 suspected al-Qaida and Taliban prisoners from 43 countries are being held at Guantanamo Bay.

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has said that some prisoners are not being considered for criminal prosecution.
