Two shot dead at Australian university

Two people were killed and eight others wounded when an attacker opened fire at a university in the southern Australian city of Melbourne today, ambulance officials said.

A police spokesman said a man had been taken into custody following the shootings at Monash University in south-eastern Melbourne.
