Sniper 'witness' charged with lying to police

A man who claimed to have seen the Washington serial sniper before his latest shooting was today charged with giving false information to police.

Matthew Dowdy, 37, of Falls Church, Virginia, was arrested on allegations that he lied about seeing the gunman holding an AK-47 to his shoulder just 30 yards from where FBI cyber terrorism analyst Linda Franklin was killed on Monday night.
