Burrell pleads not guilty to charges

The man Diana, Princess of Wales called her “rock” sat bolt upright in the dock, his face a stony mask and his gaze fixed straight ahead as if he was on parade.

When asked to plead, he answered “not guilty” three times in a clear voice which reached around the Old Bailey’s historic, oak-panelled Court One.
