Strong earthquake shakes Brittany
A strong earthquake shook the Brittany coast in western France today, rattling homes and sending panicked people into the streets. There were no reports of injuries or serious damage.
Worried residents deluged police and fire stations with phone calls after the tremor struck at 8:45 am. The magnitude of the quake, centred outside the village of Lorient, had a magnitude of 5.4.
