Prison officer resigns over Archer lunch

A warder at North Sea Camp prison has resigned after it emerged he had lunch with Lord Archer during the disgraced Tory peer’s day release from jail, the Prison Service said today.

A warder at North Sea Camp prison has resigned after it emerged he had lunch with Lord Archer during the disgraced Tory peer’s day release from jail, the Prison Service said today.

It is thought the lunchtime get-together was the same one at which Lord Archer met a female police officer, which has already triggered an internal police investigation.
