Detective bailed in child porn inquiry

A British detective who worked on the investigation into the murder of Danielle Jones has been released on bail after being arrested in connection with child pornography.

Detective Constable Chris Lacey was one of six men arrested by Britain's Essex police in relation to indecent images of children on computers.

A police spokesman said the men were released on bail pending further inquiries and will return to police stations in March next year.

The arrests are part of an investigation code-named Operation Ore, which is the British end of an operation by authorities in the United States to target users of child pornography websites.

Danielle Jones, from Tilbury, Essex, disappeared in June last year after setting out from her family home to walk to school. Her body has never been found.

Her uncle, Stuart Campbell, has been charged with her murder and is due to stand trial at Chelmsford Crown Court next week.
