A passenger train derailed in southwestern Pakistan today, killing 12 people and injuring 70 others, officials said.

Jalil Ahmad, chief controller of Pakistan Railways, said eight carriages of the Quetta Express left the tracks as the train crossed a bridge near Sibi, 90 miles east of Quetta.
