Iraq says British dossier is "baseless"

Iraq branded as baseless the British dossier of allegations Saddam Hussein is pursuing weapons of mass destruction.

“The British prime minister is serving the campaign of lies led by Zionists against Iraq. Blair is part of this misleading campaign,” said Iraqi Culture Minister Hammed Youssef Hammadi in Baghdad.

The dossier accuses Iraq of having military plans for the use of chemical and biological weapons and trying to acquire “significant quantities” of uranium from Africa.

Hammadi described the British claims as “ totally baseless.”
