Iraq resolution to be tabled 'within days'

A new draft United Nations Security Council resolution setting out the requirements for Saddam Hussein to comply with international weapons inspections will be tabled “within days”, the British government said today.

As Cabinet ministers gathered in London to be briefed on the British government’s dossier on the Iraq dictator’s weapons of mass destruction, Downing Street made clear that a diplomatic solution to the crisis was still possible.
