Suspicious powders delivered to US embassies

Envelopes containing suspicious powders were delivered to US consulates in Germany and embassies in Denmark and Italy today, sparking scares across Europe.

Envelopes were received by the consulates in the German cities of Munich, Hamburg, Leipzig, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt, said Mark Smith, a spokesman for the embassy in Berlin.
