Blair to brief senior MPs on Iraq war plans
British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to brief senior MPs over the coming weeks on plans to tackle Saddam Hussein and his regime’s weapons of mass destruction, it emerged today.
A senior British official travelling with Mr Blair throughout his trip to Washington for talks with President George Bush, also disclosed the premier would use a speech to the Trade’s Union Congress on Tuesday – a day before the anniversary of September 11 – to stress that while the United Nations should deal with the issue, Saddam could not be allowed to flout its resolutions “year after year, after year”.
