Threat must be tackled, says Blair

The threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s programmes to develop weapons of mass destruction must be tackled “one way or another”, British Prime Minister Tony Blair said today.

As he flew to Washington for talks with President George W Bush on how to curb the Iraqi leader, Mr Blair stressed the “very real” threat posed to Britain by Saddam.
