Alleged hijacker did take flying lessons

It has been confirmed that a Muslim convert, who allegedly tried to hijack a flight from Sweden to London, did take flying lessons.

However, the CIA is back-tracking on its claims that Karem Chatty was planning to fly the plane into an American Embassy in Europe. The 29-year-old denies the allegations.

Swedish authorities confirmed that Chatty trained to fly small aircraft at the North American Institute of Aviation in Conway, South Carolina. It is understood that he did not complete his course but Swedish authorities say he could have completed his training elsewhere.
