An Irish missionary has accused the developed world of ignoring the plight of southern Africa, which is currently facing famine and an AIDS epidemic.

Mary Doonan, who works with the Medical Missionaries of Mary in Malawi, said the outside world is showing little interest in the situation, despite the fact that millions of people are facing starvation and death.
