Teenage girls seek 'divorce' from lesbian mother

Two teenage girls are “divorcing” their mother because they claim her lesbian affairs clash with their devout Christian beliefs.

La Kenna and Shanicola Green of Missouri City, Texas, allege their mother, Kimla, brought her lovers home and had sex while they were in the house.

David Sloan, the girls’ lawyer, said the case was about an “irresponsible mother and her behaviour”.

“She would hold birthday parties for the girls and invite her lovers over - that’s the kind of bizarre behaviour I’m talking about,” he told the New York Post.

“This is the girls’ mother, and they still love her, but they just want her to change their lifestyle.”

La Kenna, 17, and Shanicola, 16, have lodged a suit with the Harris County district court alleging their mother “had restricted their religious schooling whenever their religion had questioned their mother’s loose sexual lifestyle”.

The sisters are now living with their aunt and uncle.

Kimla, 35, denied she was an unfit mother.

“I am a lesbian, and it is against the word of God, but I’ve had talks with my kids about it.”

She told the Post she had been in three lesbian relationships in eight years and has never had sex in front of her children.

“I have respect for myself, and I have respect for my kids.”

The three children of Wisconsin man Mark Jocius set a legal precedent in 1996 when they filed for “divorce” against their father.

They wanted their father’s legal rights over them to be removed and to be allowed to take their mother’s maiden name. They alleged Jocius had been abusive.

A judge initially ruled in favour of the children, but the divorce was later overturned by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
