Flash floods kill 14 in Iran
At least 14 people have drowned in flash floods in northeastern Iran, the official Islamic Republic News Agency said today.
The floods have also washed away roads and swamped farms around the town of Galikesh, 312 miles northeast of Tehran, the reports said.
The mayor of Galikesh, Ebrahim Karimi, said the bodies of at least 14 people had been found and that the death toll was likely to rise.
He said the situation was similar to the floods in August last year that killed more than 200 people.
