A senior detective involved in the search for two missing 10-year-old girls today said it was "almost impossible to believe" that the youngsters had suffered some sort of accident.

Detective Superintendent David Hankins said officers were "increasingly presuming" that Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman must have been abducted - possibly by someone they met over the Internet.
