Cherie Blair treated for miscarriage

Cherie Blair has been treated in hospital after suffering a miscarriage, Downing Street said.

Mrs Blair was admitted to hospital after being taken ill in Downing Street last night and was discharged this morning following an operation.

The Prime Minister was with his wife and the couple have delayed their departure for a holiday in France, a Downing Street spokeswoman said.
