Britain dismissive of Saddam offer

The British government today gave a dismissive response to Saddam Hussein’s surprise offer to talk about the re-admittance of United Nations weapons inspectors to Iraq.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "Saddam has a long history of playing games. As his track record shows, he does not deliver.
