Blast rocks Jerusalem university

An explosion rocked a cafeteria at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University during lunchtime today, causing at least 30 casualties, police say.

The explosion, described by police as a “terrorist attack” took place at the university’s Frank Sinatra cafeteria, witnesses said.

Though classes are not in session, students are taking exams and the cafeteria was busy at the time of the blast.

The university is located near the border between traditionally Arab east Jerusalem and west Jerusalem.

The blast comes less than 24 hours after a teenage Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up in a Jerusalem cafe, killing himself and wounding several Israelis.
