Bomb suspect fails to suppress 'confession'

A Briton charged with attempting to blow up an airliner with explosives hidden in his shoes has lost his bid to keep jurors at his forthcoming trial from hearing about a confession he allegedly made after his arrest.

Richard Reid is charged with attempting to detonate the explosives aboard an American Airlines flight from Paris to Miami on December 22.
