Swiss ambassador accused of money laundering

The Swiss ambassador to Luxembourg has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

The Swiss Federal Prosecutor’s Office said Peter Friedrich was detained in on Monday.

A spokesman said the arrest in Switzerland followed “private transactions worth several hundred thousand francs,” and that the money was of “unknown origin.”
