Egyptian immigrant identified as airport gunman
An immigrant Egyptian man opened fire yesterday at the ticket counter of Israeli airline El Al in Los Angeles International Airport, killing two people before being shot dead by a security guard.
The gunman, 41-year-old Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, was a resident of Irvine, California, who came to the US from Egypt 10 years ago, the FBI said. Agents were believed to be searching his home.
