Change allowed planes to fly closer together

A recent rule change on how close planes are allowed to fly to each other will come under the spotlight following the mid-air crash over Germany, aviation experts said today.

Crash investigators will also want to know why a sophisticated collision-avoidance system did not prevent the accident.
