World leaders go to G8 summit in Canadian wilderness

British Prime Minister Tony Blair was today flying out to a G8 summit in Canada which is expected to be dominated by plans to push a new aid pact with Africa.

The continuing war against terrorism was also likely to be on the agenda for the meeting between leaders of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Canada and the US.
