More than 1,000 Afghan delegates walk out

More than 1,000 delegates today walked out of the huge German beer tent that is hosting Afghanistan’s grand council, fed up over delays to the selection of a new government.

Newly elected leader Hamid Karzai is addressing the loya jirga council later in an effort to break the impasse.
