Hong Kong police defuse bomb at packed racecourse
Hong Kong police today defused a small bomb found at a racecourse where thousands were watching World Cup soccer matches being relayed live.
Spokeswoman Carmen Chong said bomb disposal experts were sent to the Shatin Racecourse after a cleaner found a small supermarket bag containing suspicious materials and a plastic bottle.
Police conducted a controlled explosion and found the home-made bomb contained nails, said Chong.
