Argentine lawyer who tried to sell her own kidney gets help and a job
An Argentinian woman who tried to sell her own kidney says she will now donate one for nothing after getting a job.
Lawyer Lucrecia Coronel tried to place an advertisement in every newspaper in her home town of Santiago del Estero but they refused to run it.
She said she needed money to pay for treatment for her sick mother and to buy food.
Her local government has now agreed to pay for her mother's treatment and has also given her a job so she can buy food.
Mrs Coronel told El Pais newspaper: "Lots of people are calling to offer help. I would never expect so much solidarity. I'm very glad."
But she has decided she will now donate a kidney free to somebody in need to "pay" for the help she had been given.
