US soldiers arrest three in Afghanistan

US soldiers have taken three men into custody in south-eastern Afghanistan after they were found to be carrying weapons, a large sum of money and illegal documents.

A US Army spokesperson says that the men are suspected of being involved in rocket attacks on its troops and are being questioned to establish if they are members of either the Al-Qaeda or Taliban networks.

The three men were confronted and arrested by members of the Special Forces after they roused suspicion while moving through an area from which rockets have been fired at troops.
