Zimbabwe rejects US food offer

Zimbabwe, facing severe food shortages, has turned away a US donation of 10,000 tons of corn because it was not certified as free from genetic modification.

The food was diverted instead to neighbouring Zambia, Mozambique and Malawi, said the US Embassy in Harare.
