Israeli soldier shoots deaf man by mistake

An Israeli soldier today shot and wounded a deaf Israeli bus passenger whom he suspected was a Palestinian suicide bomber, the latest case in which soldiers have wounded or killed people they mistakenly identified as militants.

On Saturday evening, Israeli tanks fired shells and machine guns, killing a Palestinian woman and her 13-year-old daughter in a field in the Gaza Strip.
