Israeli Embassy in Paris destroyed by fire
The Israeli Embassy in Paris has been destroyed by a fire which broke out in the building in the early hours of this morning.
The five-storey building was completely gutted in the blaze, which was reported at around 2.20am local time.
Five firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze and 60 people were evacuated from an adjacent building.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but many synagogues and other Jewish institutions in France have been attacked over the last year and there are fears that this morning’s blaze may have been deliberate.
