Palestinian suicide bomber kills two Israelis

A suspected Palestinian suicide bomber has killed two Israelis in an attack at a promenade in the town of Rishon Letzion last night.

The attacker, who had died his hair blond to fit into the crowd, blew himself up next to a row of tables, killing an elderly man, a teenager and himself. Around 30 others were wounded.

The bombing came at the end of a day in which six Palestinians were killed. The Israeli army assassinated the local leader of the al-Aqsa Martyr’s Brigade in a shell attack in the Balata refugee camp next to Nablus, also killing two Fatah activists and a civilian bystander.

Earlier, at a checkpoint in Bethlehem, a 35-year-old Palestinian civilian was killed during a confrontation with Israeli border police, while another Palestinian died when explosives he was allegedly carrying detonated prematurely as he approached an intersection in the West Bank.
