Suspects escape in stolen police car

A young couple arrested in Athens on suspicion of theft escaped from custody today by stealing an unmarked police car parked outside the police station, authorities said.

The 24-year-old man and 20-year-old woman, who were arrested on Saturday after allegedly stealing a bag from a parked car, were due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing, Greek police said.
