Explosion kills one and injures 13 in Kashmir

One person has been killed and at least 13 injured in an explosion in the disputed Himalayan province of Kashmir.

The blast was caused by a rigged motor scooter which was planted in the province’s summer capital, Srinigar.

India blamed Pakistan for the attack, but the Pakistani authorities denied the accusations.

The explosion came as the Indian parliament discussed possible attacks on Pakistan in retaliation for an attack on an Indian army base in Kashmir on Tuesday, which left 33 people dead.
