A catholic priest in the United States has been shot and wounded by a man who accused him of sexual abuse nine years ago.

The attack on Fr Maurice Blackwell outside his home in Baltimore, Maryland, is the latest tragic turn in the sex scandal engulfing the Catholic Church in the US.
