Israeli troops leaving Manger Square

Israeli jeeps and armoured vehicles have driven away from Manger Square in Bethlehem.

It signals the beginning of a troop pull-back from Bethlehem after 39 days of occupation.

Several dozen Palestinian children ran into the square, clapping and whistling in joy over the departure of the troops.

The withdrawal is expected to be completed within several hours.
